The Trump Administration wants to remove Obama-era guidelines that encourage considering race in the college admissions process as a way of promoting diversity.

Following the U.S. Department of Education’s decision to drop guidelines that encouraged diversity in the selection process for applicants, Gov. Cuomo directed SUNY to continue policies that promote racial diversity and set an Aug. 15 deadline for a report on how CUNY and SUNY plan to do that.
